The command opens “Global Settings” dialog where it is possible to adjust all necessary calculation
and graphical representation parameters.
Choose:
New test point properties section |
Short ray length | the lengh of ray, which represents insolation presense within insolated interval |
Long ray length | the length of insolated interval start and end rays |
Short ray offset | offset from the test point |
Calculate and draw rays | enables/disables calculation of insolation duration of new test point |
Calculate SVF | enables/disables calculation of SVF of new test point |
SVF steps count | defines how precise SVF calculation is |
Insolated sector representation | switches insolated sector representation |
SVF sphere radius | defines the size of SVF hemisphere |
Environment parameters section |
Show rays checking process | switches on/off rays checking process (if it is turned on, then it is possible to see shadow animation, while insolation testing is going on) |
Express calculation factor | defines how less precise the real-time express calculation in comparison with final insolation testing (it is 5 times less precise by default, and it causes "Add Test Point Tool" faster performance, when "express calculation mode" is turned on) |
Handle transparency | enables/disables transparency of materials handling (if material of the object is transparent, then plugin ignores the object during calculations) |
Check step size | defines the density of the “test grid” for the “Pick Test Face Tool” |
Check step size (window) | defines the density of the “test grid” for the “Pick Window Face Tool” |
Isolines step (in seconds) | defines isolines density for the “Pick Test Face Tool” results |
Test face results representation | defines “Pick Test Face Tool” results appearance |
Use shadowing objects materials | enables/disables materials handling feature for SVF calculation results and Pick Window Face tool processing results |
Enable colors | enables/disables color gradient for representation of insolation duration at a test point |
Rays colors diagram
|
it is possible to choose four specific colors:
- "Morning color" is for 06:00
- "Midday color" is for 12:00
- "Evening color" is for 18:00
- "Midnight color" is for 00:00
Note: color support was added in order to make calculation results of insolation duration more intuitively understandable.
|
Animation speed | adjusts speed of "animation" while performing calculations if "Show rays checking process" option is set to "On" |
It is possible to switch between new and old 'Global Settings' dialog type:
- choose Sketchup Main Menu>>Plugins>>LSS Chronolux>>Choose Settings Dialog Type
- Select desired dialog type from drop-down list
Plugin uses parameters from “New test point properties section”of global settings for new test point creation (“Add Test Point Tool” and “Make Rays Cluster(s)”,
“Calculate SVF” commands). It is possible to change properties of the certain test point later,
by selecting it and launching “Test Point Properties” command.
