Founder FZ1000C Printer

Date: December 2001

Version 1.0 of the Founder FZ1000C printer driver supports Microsoft Windows 98, SE, Me, 2000 and XP.

Network Printing

The FZ1000C printer does not support printing over a network or as a locally shared printer.

Installation Issues

You should turn off your virus checker while installing the printer driver. Be sure to turn it back on after the driver is installed.

The Online User Guide requires Acrobat reader 4.x or higher. If you do not have Acrobat reader, it will be installed if you click the View User Guide button in the installer. However, you need to uninstall Acrobat 3.x before installing the printer software for this to work.

You may not connect more than one USB printers to the same PC. Only one FZ1000C printer can be connected.

Printing with one black ink cartridge

When printing with one black pen while the color pen is removed, you may see the following warning dialog.

You should ignore this warning dialog by not clicking on the Cancel Print button, otherwise your print job may be cancelled. When printing complete this dialog will disappear by itself.

Important: The following problems are related to installation techniques other than the one given on the Setup Your Printer poster. If you use the Setup Your Printer poster, you will not see these issues and should NOT follow these instructions.

Windows 2000

If you plug in the printer cable before installing the software, the Found New Hardware wizard will not be able to locate the proper INF file of the driver if the default Check CD-ROM Drives is selected. You must:

         unclick the Check CD-ROM drives,

         click Specify a Location, then

         provide the correct drive letter

before continuing. This is a known issue with printers that are not WHQL certified for Windows 2000.
